Questions & Answers

The questions people ask before they start.

If your question isn't here, the fastest way to a real answer is the 2-minute diagnostic, or just reach out.

What exactly is The Work Life Upgrade?

It's recruiter-led career transition advisory for experienced professionals. Instead of generic coaching, you get specific, tactical guidance from someone who spent nearly two decades on the hiring side of the table and treats your search like the business problem it is.

Is this coaching?

Not in the usual sense. I don't do mindset work or help you "find your purpose." I give you actionable, proven, recruiter-informed direction on your actual search, resume, LinkedIn, interviews, networking, and negotiation, so you can move faster.

Who is this for?

Experienced professionals in transition: recently laid off, leaving the military, long-tenured at one company, pivoting industries, quietly job-hunting while employed, or returning after a career break. The 2-minute diagnostic points you to the path that fits.

How much does it cost?

The Advisory Room is $500/month over 10 months, or $4,500 paid in full, and includes 36-month access. A Premium Upgrade adds direct 1-on-1 work for +$2,500 (combined $7,500). Standalone à-la-carte services run $250 to $1,500. Everything is listed openly on the Programs page, no "contact us for pricing."

What's included in The Advisory Room?

Three live office hours a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), the full A-to-Z on-demand job-search training, a peer community of professionals at your level, monthly market insights from the recruiter's side of the table, and the option to apply for the Premium Upgrade.

Do you offer one-off services?

Yes. If you just need one thing fixed, the à-la-carte menu includes a Resume Audit ($250), a live Resume Rebuild ($650), a live Mock Interview with feedback ($650), Networking Training ($300), and the A-to-Z Job Search Program ($1,500).

How does the assessment work?

It's a free, 2-minute Career Transition Diagnostic. You answer a handful of questions and get a specific read on where your search stands, what it means, and the single best next step, whether that's a program, a standalone service, or a free resource. No sales-call trap.

Do you work with people outside your area?

Yes. This is a national practice with clients from coast to coast, and everything runs virtually.

What if I'm still employed?

That's one of the most common situations. A search you run while employed has to be discreet and deliberate, and it's a different operation than a full-time hunt. There's a dedicated path for exactly that.

When are office hours?

Live on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Exact times are shared when you enroll in the Advisory Room. Bring whatever's happening in your search, an interview, an offer, a reply you're not sure how to write, and we work through it together in real time.

Why is the Advisory Room $500 a month instead of one payment?

Because many of the people who need this most are between jobs when they find it. Paying $500 a month makes expert advisory accessible at exactly the moment income is uncertain. You can pay in full at $4,500 and save $500. Either way you get 36 months of access.

Is the Advisory Room really worth it when there are cheaper options out there?

It depends entirely on your target role. If you're earning $100K+ and a stalled search costs you an extra few months of income, the math is obvious. There are $10,000+ programs that assign you to a consultant you've never met, and outplacement firms that charge $15K-$25K. Cheaper options exist and some are fine, but most are mass-market video with no recruiter actually looking at your search.

What's the difference between the Quick Start Program and the Advisory Room?

The Quick Start Program is for someone who wants support from Whitney without joining the full Advisory Room yet. You get three focused video trainings on the areas that most consistently stall experienced searches, plus three personal written questions answered directly by Whitney within 4 business days. No live calls, no membership. If you decide the Advisory Room is the right next step, the full $1,000 credits toward enrollment within 60 days.

Do you do discovery calls?

Not sales calls. If you have a question about which service level is right for you, we can schedule a short conversation after I review your Career Assessment results. That conversation is about fit, not pitch.

What if I'm in a niche industry, like defense or biotech?

My deepest expertise is in deep-tech, robotics, drones, unmanned systems, and defense-adjacent sectors. But the underlying recruiter logic travels across industries. If I don't think I'm the right fit for your niche, I'll tell you directly, and often point you toward someone who is.

Do you offer refunds?

The Advisory Room has a 7-day satisfaction guarantee, provided you haven't accessed the on-demand materials. À la carte services are non-refundable once work has begun. If you have questions about what's covered before you commit, just ask.
